It's not only the people of this country that have been ravaged by fright in these days after the hurricane. The animals are also feeling the brunt of it. Beatrice was feeling very sorry and decided it was time to hide. She feels bad that there isn't more that she can do. She's a very sensitive turtle. But no matter how much I comfort her, she still leaves little tootsie rolls around the house for me to find. And then she eats her banana. Thank you Beatrice.

You can't imagine
Imagine sitting in a hotel room where there is power, and seeing your house underwater. This sucks you guys. It really sucks that emergency workers are having to rescue people that didn't leave their houses when they were told. All of this sucks. Those twin span bridges are ruined, and it's a horrible devistation. Evidently the levees did finally break, and now the french quarter is starting to flood. It's right now as of 2pm est under 9 inches. It doesn't sound like a lot, but when you're standing in it, it is a lot of water. The Yacht clubhouse was burning, with no way for it to be put out. There is right now film of something burning in downtown new orleans, but i'm not sure what it is. Lets not forget though, New orleans is NOT the only place affected by this shitty thing. Mississippi, Alabama, and a little bit of florida have all been affected by this. This blog by Wesa Turtle has a really great summary of some of the things that have happened to New Orleans. There have not been many reports of what's going on in Mississippi or Alabama, but I'm sure there will be soon. Nobody will be going home for days because there is no way in and no way out. And the people stuck in new orleans, that the coast guard is helping right now, maybe next time you'll heed the warnings and get the hell out. Good luck everybody.

Blown Away!
If you have never been through a hurricane, or even a tropical storm, let me tell you, It sucks. It sucks a lot. The hurricanes I was in were not major, but they sucked enough. People fight over food and water, there's no electricity (which sucks a lot more than people give it credit for, especially when you run out of ice.) And then there are always those die hard assholes who have to tie themselves to a tree to prove that they are strong enough to withstand a hurricane. [Side note, the 56 {i think} year old gentleman who decided to pull this stunt, who indeed thought he could survive the hurricane, died after a car bumper traveling at over 90mph smashed him and his tree to smithereens, thusly nominating himself for a Darwin Award.] It is not the hurricane that will kill you, it's the shit flying around, and the feet of water stacking up, and the heat, and the disease, and the sewers that will kill you. I feel bad for the people on the coastline because their shit is all gonna be destroyed. That is inevitable. It's like a big tornado. It fucks your shit up. It's unfortunate that their ancestors decided to set up camp in this place. It's a luck shot of where the hurricanes are going to land, and it sucks that Florida got it again, and this state is getting it again as well.
If you have ever been in a hurricane, you have probably seen the side of people helping people and human nature proving itself decent. And you have probably seen the other side of human nature which is the stupid side. People chilling on the beach or surfers surfing the high waves, or fist fights over water. It is frustrating, but you have to be the smart ones and pick up and leave if it calls for it.
I hope for these people in this particular storm that the roads will open up, they can get off the highway and someplace safe, the superdome will hold up and indeed be super, and I hope they wont let the storm get them down. It's hard to see shit destroyed, beautiful trees downed, and all of your shit ruined. I hope they can overcome it.
If you live in Central United States, it's the tornados and snow. If you live on the east coast, or the south, it's the hurricanes. If you live in California, it's earthquakes. No matter where you choose to live, nature is gonna fuck with you, and it's not your fault. Good luck, and stay safe tonight.

What I'm thinking about right now:
Glow in the dark is my favorite color, as some of you may already know. And i think I have found the solution to my tattoo crisis. Glow in the dark (sortof)! When done as a clear glow in the dark tattoo, it doesn't show up on the skin! Its sortof like white ink, but it is reactive. On this website is a picture of a guy that got one on his hand, and it really just looks like light scarring. You cannot tell that there's a tattoo there! How cool is that! So, if you don't want your tattoo seen by everyone, or you have a job where your tattoo cannot be seen by the public, this could be for you! If you want to learn more about this UV ink stuff, you can go here. I think they are way cool, and I'm thinking about getting a black tattoo reinforced with the UV reactive ink. Thank you to bmezine.com for letting me use these awesome ass photos!

The amazingness of Capri Sun.
Ahhhhh. Remember those days way back when. Think back: When you ate your lunch out of a paper bag, or perhaps, if you were lucky, one of those really fancy cloth lunch bags. And you'd open up your lunch, and you'd pull out your capri sun, only to discover your sandwich was smooshed by it, and now there's almost a hole in your sandwich where the capri sun sat all day and got really warm. Ah, How I love capri sun. Although, in this hot Charleston summer, I don't drink them warm anymore. I freeze them, and then I let them thaw just enough that I can eat them with a spoon. You gotta hack at it for a while with your spoon, but when it works out, it turns into like, a capri sun virgin margarita. Although, add a little tequila, and, TA DRUNK! You've got yourself a nice drink! Ahh, the amazingness of capri sun!

Darth Tater vs. The Turtle
He walks down the hall only to be confronted by....
Beatrice Skywalker!!! Darth Tater trys to sway her by attempting to convince her that He is indeed her Uncle. But she says "No, you aren't, for I am an animal, and YOU are a vegtable! And I shall defeat you Darth Tater!"
She defeats him with a single move! Darth Tater is NO MATCH For Beatrice Skywalker! She slays him and puts Darth Tater in Tonights Potatos Au Gratin, and feeds 800 people! She is the hero of the universe and is praised by everyone![Sing skywalker theme here] [cheers and applause for Beatrice Skywalker!]

New Updates on Foot!
Hello! Remember foot? Remember the trouble foot was having? (see previous posting, diary of a left leg, more about left leg, and leg is better) Eeeyah, well, foot is not better. Foot is swelling again, and is in quite an unhappy state. It pops quite loudly when i bend my toe, and when there's pressure against it, it pops in and out of joint. Now this is not leg, leg had a spider bite, and leg got medicine, but this is foot itself. Poor unhappy foot. Soon to be out of comission again. Sigh.... Will my poor feet know no end?!

Enough
Enough with the problem though.... I have a friend to talk me to the solution. She okays it, I'm okay with it.
I'm very much into music, and I have made this compilation CD of all these different songs that DEFINE my life and myself. I think it's quite a phenomenon that a person can be so multi sided that many different genres of music and many different songs can still relate to a single person. I love music. In fact, I think I might just go and write some right now. :D
Thank you all for visiting my site and leaving messages. It's so thoughtful of you, and I love to look and see what you all wrote. I get such a kick out of knowing that somone else out there is reading my silly thoughts. I appreciate all of you.

What i'm thinking about right now:
This is what i'm thinking about right now. Schimmel Pianos. I'd like to play one of these and see what it sounds like. Liberace had the clear one.
And i'd really like to OWN one of these http://www.boesendorfer.com/_english_version/index.html but i don't see $148,000 falling out of the sky and into my bank account now do you? Actually, if i could play one it would be a pretty happy day for me.

Shaving a cat
Don't you wonder where we get some of the expressions in the american language? For instance, who was the first dickhead that said, "a penny saved is a penny earned." Or, "a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush" or whatever. These sayings have inconvenienced me. Someone has said to me at one time or another, "Dont put all your eggs in one basket." I DONT HAVE EGGS, I DON'T HAVE A BASKET!! LEAVE ME ALONE ABOUT IT ALRIGHT! And it wasn't really my parents. My parents were cool like that. But someone, some time has said that to me. Makes me want to do something. Like, make a batch of cookies.
